Self esteem issues (my story)

Hi Everyone!

Yes, this video is about my story on self esteem issues. I grow up thinking that I was ugly because I was dark. It was time I spoke about it and how I overcame this. I really hope, this video will help someone and let them know that they are not alone.

Thanks for coming by and have a great day!

  3. Thanks so much for candidly sharing your story with all of us. In addition to encouraging others you showed us that your beauty is not just restricted to your external features, but that you are equally beautiful within:) When you're young you naturally look for positive validation from family, not ridicule. I agree with you that "broken and troubled" people don't know how to do anything but spread negativity. It's great you were able to overcome those obstacles. I hope your WORDS travel far and are able to help others do the same.....God Bless!

  6. That's very kind hearted and caring to share your story with us to help someone else who might be feeling low in self esteem to stop in their tracks.

Sorry you were bullied. Like you said, whatever people can jump on they will, I was made fun of for being tall. As an adult I love my 5'9 height. You have to love what you have, it makes life easier when there are so many other problems to deal with in this evil world.

God bless you Uma, you are beautiful inside and out.

  7. so sad that in so many places in the world (aka 99% of places) no matter how GORGEOUS someone is (which you actually are), they don't feel like it because of SKIN TONE....pale shouldn't only be the ideal of beauty.

  8. It's clear that what you are saying comes right from your heart. It's beautiful when words like these are heard more often. Be strong always and hope your video travels far.

  9. Thank you for sharing your story. Many people suffer from the same abuse, and subsequently have to deal with negative images of themselves as a result. I am a fair skinned African-American mother of a dark skinned daughter who suffered from types of the same negativity. I saw that happening and worked hard to counter act it by constant reinforcement of telling her how beautiful her dark skin was when she was a child. People can be so cruel. Thank God you and my daughter are now beautiful, dark, highly self confident individuals.

  11. its so beautiful that u have come out to talk abt it, i have experienced similar self esteem issues but im classified as a fair indian, my darker indian classmates gave me hell in my 1st year in secondary school 2nd year onwards i only hung out with the malay, chinese and the eurasian gals took me a while to realise im beautiful and that their insecurity is what makes them taunt and hurt ppl.. till today sometimes i get stares, i beleive every woman is beautiful no matter their skin type Oprah is gorgoues in my opinion cos she is so beautiful inside...your so beautiful uma, it sad how ppl can say hurtful things but they make us stronger in the process, i bought orange blossom ( strawberry shortcake fren ) cos i want my daughter not to discriminate and feel only light coloured dolls are pretty...im glad u came out with this story makes me love u more ...i subbed to your youtube channel.
